Happy Hour>> RDJ2>> 25th & 27th December 2021

 Happy Hour>> RDJ2 https://bit.ly/radiodj2>> 25th December from 20:00EET (19:00CET) & 27th December from 09:00EET (08:00CET) & 21:00EET (20:00CET)>> "Escape Reality" by Paul Van Dyk, album released on April 17th, 2020.

It’s definitely a weird time out there, the country is entering its sixth week of lockdown, and it doesn’t look like we’re going to be going to any live events anytime soon. However, the majority of people are making the most of the situation and remaining positive. As we’ve been home for days at a time, we’ve been treated to virtual festivals, home live streams, and of course, a bunch of new music. Count Paul Van Dyk among the many artists who are using the quarantine period to engage with fans in creative new ways. The legendary producer/DJ has just released Escape Reality. Escape Reality is collection of ambient and orchestral arrangements of some of Paul’s most beloved hits. The album spans 16 tracks and includes breathtaking re-works of PVD hits like “For An Angel,” “Guardian,” “The Ocean,” “Music Rescues Me,” and more. Paul was originally slated to release his ninth studio album Guiding Light, but in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, Paul wanted to release something more personal, more relevant to the moment. While PVD’s version of progressive and uplifting trance packs its own emotional punch, Escape Reality is a side of PVD we’ve never seen before. Escape Reality definitely has some ambient tracks, however, to me, it’s almost more of an orchestral album. What stands out is really the instrumentation and song arrangement, there’s lots of acoustic guitar and percussion in the tracks. When we think of an EDM collab, it’s easy to see two producers just sending files back and forth. With Escape Reality, we see Paul van Dyk as a deft studio producer cranking out high quality material with professional musicians. While you can recognize some of the PVD synth work on a couple of tracks, overall the vocalists get to shine and PVD is almost more of an orchestra conductor than a producer. Here’s what the trance legend had to say about why now was the perfect time to release Escape Reality. “Last month it quickly became apparent that putting out an album designed for the dance floor (‘Guiding Light’) in a largely club-less world would not be right. So focusing on music-making and a release whose function is now more intimate made a lot of sense… Again, music became my remedy. When I got underway, much of the personal apprehension I’d been feeling moved into the background. Impasses that I’d previously reached on certain tracks vanished, new ideas popped and angles appeared. It was a remarkable final production month to something I’d enjoyed playing with for years, and a specific reason to finish it became its tipping point…This project was, to the greatest extent, waiting in the wings. Reality can be unkind and while this release isn’t a remedy, it might play its part in helping us to calm down, relax, dream and escape reality.”

Returning with their first new album in 40 years, the Swedish pop titans attempt the seemingly impossible: balancing the lure of nostalgia with the pull of the present day. Amazingly, they pull it off.Rarely has a reunion seemed as superfluous as ABBA’s. In Europe and Australasia, 40 years after they first broke up, ABBA remain omnipotent, an ever-present part of the pop landscape, like guitar solos and interminable Coldplay album rollouts. The band’s legacy may have dimmed slightly in the 1980s, after their split at the start of the decade. But since the early 1990s—and particularly following the release of ABBA Gold in 1992—ABBA’s traces can be found in every nook and cranny of cultural life, from musicals to movies, Madonna to museums. That means the stakes for the band’s comeback, with Voyage, are both impossibly high and curiously low. (As ABBA co-songwriter Benny Andersson recently told The New York Times, “What is there to prove? They’ll still play ‘Dancing Queen’ next year.”) ABBA could return with a song as irrationally perfect as 1975 hit “S.O.S.” and it still wouldn't resonate with the same lived-in emotional significance as the 19 songs on ABBA Gold. At the same time, as long as ABBA 2021 sound vaguely in line with the classically inspired, slightly nerdy Swedish pop overlords of popular memory, their recorded return will be loaves and fishes to their fans, who have already forked out in their thousands to watch digital avatars of Agnetha, Benny, Björn, and Anni-Frid prance around a London stage.Much like the forthcoming digital residency, the band’s new album falls somewhere between the lure of nostalgia and the pull of the present day. Voyage is a mixture of songs, old and (mostly) new, that have all the glam boogie, scandi-disco bounce, and epic pop construction of the band’s revered catalog, with some tentative nods to the passing of time. They may have kept the music on Voyage “absolutely trend-blind” to modern pop production, but Agnetha Fältskog and Anni-Frid Lyngstad's vocals have a slightly world-weary, aged tone to them, their vocal range a touch lower than in their pomp, while the album’s lyrics frequently speak of old times, faithful friends, and the demands of parenthood.

"I have been working on something very special during these strange times, something that I felt was missing in order for me to call my career as a Trance DJ and complete producer. Over the past two decades, I have released numerous singles, remixes, and mix albums. Yet despite this it never came to an artist album, something which I always regretted. "But after all that time it occurred to me that I couldn't just leave it at that, and so over the past months I have opened the safe with masters and started compiling my last gift to you: a three-disc Collected Works album spanning my entire career, and featuring the most important releases during that time. Several of the older tracks were remastered especially for this purpose, by no less than three mastering engineers with each their own signature sound that best re-sparked the track in question. "Besides that, we were able to include an unreleased chill-out track, and some previously unreleased remixes, to add to what is a comprehensive, career encompassing selection of tracks." This album features a 2020 Remaster of the Anjuna classic Guanxi!

This weekend, 18th & 19th September 2021, on Happy Hour> RDJ1> from 10:00EET (09:00CET) & 22:00EET (21:00CET), you can listen the album "Ready For Life" by Ashley Wallbridge, album released on September 3rd, 2021.
DJ Ashley Wallbridge has unveiled his newest album titled, “Ready For Life.” Having written his 2020 breakthrough single ‘Still Alive’ from his hospital bed, following a near-fatal battle with meningitis, Ashley returns with an album that is sure to inspire us all.“Ready For Life” is Wallbridge's most definitive work to date with 13 original tracks. Taking a meticulously hands-on approach, Ashley penned most of the lyrics himself, produced a high-spec visual FX show for all 13 tracks (Brooklands Studio, London) and scored a crowdfunding homerun on Kickstarter to fund the project. Wallbridge hit the bullseye with the first single ‘World For You’ (feat. Sarah de Warren) back in January, and continued to build a fever pitch level of excitement since then. With a string of live performance music videos exploding his YouTube Channel (one million views and rising), a surprise collaboration with Darren Styles (‘All My Life’) and the huge new vocal ‘City of Angels feat. Linney’ – it’s safe to say this album is grade A listening material.Ashley’s profound motivation for the album was that he felt he had more to give. A year and a half on, it's clear that he's put absolutely everything into his new material and crafted something remarkable. In his own words, he describes Ready For Life as ‘a feel-good dance album’ which he hopes can spread some much needed positivity at a time when we all need it. As for what’s next, Wallbridge has started touring the album with a string of headline club shows (North America, UK, Europe) and no doubt will be gearing up for his busiest ever year as we head towards 2022. We hope you enjoy this album as much as we do!

This weekend, 28th & 29th August 2021, on Happy Hour>RDJ1 (ONEly trance :d-_-b:) https://bit.ly/radiodj1> from 10:00EET (09:00CET) & 22:00EET (21:00CET), you can listen the album "FindThe Sunrise (Deluxe Edition - Extended version)" by Dennis Sheperd, album released on August 13rd, 2021.
Dennis Sheperd has become a huge name in the progressive trance scene since first emerging over a decade ago. During this time he’s released plenty of tunes and two studio albums including A Tribute To Life and Fight Your Fears, which showcased his unique sound and captured the hearts of many trance fans around the world. Now, after a tough year, Dennis Sheperd is back with even more refined sounds to explore with the release of Find The Sunrise. Out now on Black Hole Recordings, Find The Sunrise is an innovative album filled with 15 songs, each of which offers up different sounds that contribute to the charm of the release. Additionally, Sheperd teamed up with other artists such as EKE, RELIJI, and Sunlounger to further expand his range from darker soundscapes to uplifting melodies throughout the journey. While keeping within the ream of progressive trance, Find The Sunrise flows like a smooth river although each track carries a different feel with it. From the dancey tunes of “When I’m Alone” with Joston and Clementine Douglas as well as “How Does It Feel” with Chloe Kay to darker tunes like “I Can Feel” with Sunlounger, Find The Sunrise is a testament to Dennis Sheperd’s talents as a producer. Sheperd also adds some impressive hard-hitting beats and basslines that are sure to be scorchers on the dancefloor with tunes like “Hamsa” and “Miss You” which serves up some tremendous club-ready melodies and beats. A party starting kick combined with a speaker rattling bassline really makes the listener get up and dance immediately. Songs like these are Dennis’s forte and his masterful touch on them will energize anyone who listens. Although these songs go a bit outside of the normal progressive trance sound, they breathe new life into the album and offer up a twist that is warmly welcomed. This can be heard in the album’s title track “Find The Sunrise” with Katy Heath as well as on “Omid” with RELIJI, both of which clock in around 85 BPM and display how Sheperd can thrive at slower tunes. Adding to that, his dive into breakbeats is put on display with “When Our Worlds Collide” with Sarah Russell, which is a solid change-up on the trance-driven album. All in all, Find The Sunrise is a fantastic addition to his already stunning discography. Dennis Sheperd continues to impress with each passing release and we can’t wait to hear what his well-rounded production style offers up next. But until then we can’t wait to shred it on the dancefloor to these fiery tunes for some time to come.

Happy Hour > RDJ1> 14th & 15th August 2021

This weekend, 14th & 15th August 2021, on Happy Hour> RDJ1 (ONEly trance :d-_-b:) https://bit.ly/radiodj1> from 10:00EET (09:00CET) & 22:00EET (21:00CET), you can listen the album "Lost In Isolation" by Protoculture, album released on July 23rd, 2021. Reflective of a period of ups, downs and time spent in inevitable suspension, Protoculture's 'Lost In Isolation' is an album that stems from a life turned upside down. Without the pressure of having to write for dance floors, the South African DJ and producer figuratively set sail to channel his inner explorer and find new musical purpose along the way. Decked out with fourteen tracks that serve as stepping stones to this change in direction, his sixth album dons the notion of riding out the storm or drifting aimlessly waiting for the next wave to form. It's about overcoming struggles, pushing against the stream and seeing the beauty beneath the murky surface. Protoculture may have been 'Lost In Isolation', but the surge of inspiration has clearly never been stronger.
