Happy Hour> RDJ1> 31 July - 1 August 2021

This weekend: 31st July & 1st August 2021, from 10:00EET (09:00CET) & 22:00EET (21:00CET) on Happy Hour> RDJ1 https://bit.ly/radiodj1, you can listen the album "Missing Links" by Accuface, album released on February 15th, 2021. It's done: within the last three years Accuface has worked hard to polish up all of its classics from the past 25 years and release them on its label Metrophonic Resistance. The tedious work (sifting through old DAT cartridges with the original masters, repairing old hard drives and carefully re-mastering) now culminates in his last album in the remaster series: "Missing Links". An album that again offers not only well-known pieces that were never released in full length (because they were only available as a mix snippet on the legendary Sony / Tunnel sampler "Tunnel Trance Force" and DJ Networx) as well as previously unreleased material. Some songs date back to 1996. Now they are on the start - of course, remastered in the best 2021 state-of-the-art sound! "Missing Links" contains tons of songs that have never been heard in full before, such as "Ability to fold Space" by DJ Networx Vol. 6 from 2000, as well as the party track "9 o 'clock (we gotta go to work) "from Tunnel Trance Force Vol. 22 (2002) or the harder" Frequency of the Nation "(DJ Networx Vol 3, 1999). As with every song, there is a story behind the latter: "The CD series DJ Networx was still fairly new. After the mega success of the Tunnel Trance Force (it broke into the top 3 of the Media Control Charts with the first volume), Sony wanted Music established a harder mix-compilation variant. Tunnel asked me if I could contribute a harder track. Inspired by one of my favorite techno sounds - the legendary 'Hoover' - I sat down in the studio. If you listen carefully , you can hear slight timing glitches in the song. Back then everything was based on real machines in the studio (synthesizer, expander and sampler) and I only had one sampler (the Ensoniq ASR 10, 16 bit fully developed with no less than 16 megabytes of RAM) . I have always demanded a lot from this device and always pushed it to its limit. The surface of the sampler became so hot that you could have fried eggs on its surface. In summer you had to h silly to be naked in the studio to endure it, remembers Marlon with a laugh and adds: "Yes, times were really different before, but I don't want to miss them".

Happy Hour> RDJ1> 24 & 25 July 2021

This weekend, 24th & 25th July 2021, from 10:00EET (09:00CET) & 22:00EET (21:00CET) on Happy Hour> RDJ1 https://bit.ly/radiodj1, you can listen the album "Starsphere" by Tasadi, album released on February 2nd, 2021. Taha Asadi (aka Tasadi) first began his EDM career in the late 90's as a Dallas local artist. After a few years of residencies at several of the local hot spots, and selling CD mixes from the trunk of his car, he began working towards his true dream of becoming a trance and progressive music producer. He spent two years learning and honing his craft to perfection and had his first release on Armada Music's Cloud 9 record label. His track, "Saturn" quickly became an immense fan favorite and was the catalyst that brought Tasadi's career into full motion. After a few years producing and remixing several other singles for various high tier EDM labels, Tasadi decided it was time to bring all his creativity and passion into one single entity… a full length artist album. In 2007, Tasadi brought "The System" to one of the largest and most prestigious Trance labels in the world, Lost Language. After the label executives reviewed his work, Tasadi was signed to Lost Language as an artist and A&R and granted several new opportunities to work with artists such as Gareth Emery, Andy Moor and Solarstone. "The System" was released in 2009 and featured heavily supported singles such as "Luna", "Mercurious" and his massive hit, "Jupiter". The album was highly supported by DJ's from the likes of Above & Beyond, Armin Van Buuren, Markus Schulz, Gareth Emery and long time front runner, Tiesto. Following the success of "The System" and the remixed album, "The System: Rebooted", Tasadi turned his sights on becoming a highly acclaimed radio host. His show, "World of Illusions" debuted in November of 2009 on the #1 Trance and Progressive radio station, Afterhours.FM. His show quickly spread to thousands of listeners all over the world, adding new depth and diversity to his sky rocketing career. Tasadi had no intentions of slowing down. Over the next few years, he mixed several compilations for Lost Language, including the illustrious double CD release, Exhibition: Centuries. This compilation featured remixes of tracks from Armin Van Buuren and Tiesto from some of the biggest names of EDM in 2010. Tasadi also teamed up with Japanese composer and producer Nhato to create their masterpiece, "Time Ticks Away". This track was quickly signed to Spinnin' and spread like wildfire, earning support from lots of top DJ's and a top 10 spot on Beatport. Some of his well known remixes, such as Solarstone's "Seven Cities", Tilt's "Twelve", Luminary's "My World", Gareth Emery "Soul Symbol" which was featured on GE Annual Compilation and Allende's "Verasity", which was featured on Markus Schulz's Global DJ Broadcast. In 2013, Tasadi decided it was time to try something new. He teamed up with friend and coproducer Geoffrey Rhoads (aka Aryas Van Tassel) and together they brought "Lost Garden" into fruition. The duo signed on Faruk Sabanci to create the Dirty Rock remix and once the package was complete, it was released and received by thousands of anxious listeners. The track was featured on one of the main stages of ASOT 600, Armin's BBC 1 Essential Mix, Corstens Countdown and an appearance on Andrew Rayel's compilation, "Mystery of Aether". It was also heavily supported by Armin Van Buuren on his "Intense" tour. After several years of success and recognition, Tasadi finally decided it was time to begin working on a brand new album. In March of 2013, he began working on "Ancient Realms". Fueled by the wonder and curiosity of mythical places, he brought seem of the most imaginative ideas into beautiful melodic pieces. Tasadi enlisted the aid of world renown vocalists to lend their talents to the project as well, including Madelin Zero, and 2012 "Trance Track of the Year" winner Christina Novelli. Over the past 14 years, Tasadi's name has become synonomous with great EDM music. As a DJ, he's opened for Paul Oakenfold, Andy Moor, Markus Schulz, Armin Van Buuren, Sander Van Doorn, John O'Callaghan and Avicii. He has been supported by some of the most famous names in trance music: Armin Van Buuren, Tiesto, Ferry Corsten, Markus Schulz, Solarstone and Paul Van Dyk just to name a few. His tracks have been spun on nearly every radio show, including Club Life, A State of Trance, Trance Around The World, Group Therapy and Global DJ Broadcast.

Happy Hour> RDJ1> 17 & 18 July 2021

This weekend, 17 & 18 July 2021, from 10:00EET (09:00CET) & 22:00EET (21:00CET), on Happy Hour> RDJ1 https://bit.ly/radiodj1, you can listen the album "Beside You (Deluxe Edition)" by Somna, album released on May 8th, 2021.

‘Secret’, ‘Long Way Down’, ‘Stars Collide’ and most recently its namesake single have all blazed a trail for it, but now the overture’s over. Main event time’s here, as May 8 sees ‘Beside You’ – Somna’s first longplayer, make its big bid for 2020 glory. The first block-release collection from the DJ, producer & AVA Recordings co-owner has been one long sought by fans. Throughout his production lifetime, Somna’s always been in his element when working in synergy with singers and songwriters. That ‘beside you’ connection that can bring voice, message and extra dimensions to his studio creations. That dynamic’s reached a new apex through his debut album that – almost without exception – is built around the producer/singer simpatico. In pursuit of it Ben’s tapped the talents of many a remarkable songstress. Some he’s worked with previously (and one, notably, to an almost muse-like degree), whereas others mark first time artist/singer unions. There are those who Ben is essentially introducing to the electronic music scene, whilst others will already be known-names to ‘Beside You’s audience. Their single common denominator however is the ability to articulate Ben’s music into words and vocalise his innermost. Amongst the album’s co-production coterie you’ll find the inimitable likes of HALIENE, Jennifer Rene and Roxanne Emery – singers whose renown is already foundation deep in dance music. Newer-to-most names that Ben’s engaged for the album include gifted local talent like (fellow Canadians) Noire Lee and Emoiryah, and from those from further afield, including Sally Oh and BLÜ EYES. While trance runs true through ‘Beside You’s veins, stylistically it explores the genre to its furthest reaches. Indeed if the album had one hash above all others, it’d be #contrast. Through the likes of ‘Rebels’, ‘White Noise’, HALIENE collab ‘Secret’ and ‘Constant Fire’, high altitude uplifters arrive thick & fast. Offering a sharp distinction are those of a more melancholic beauty, not least the album’s title track and its former single ‘Long Way Down’. Equally there’s also more pumping floor-minded fare – ‘Morse Code’, ‘Stars Collide’ and the LTN-paired ‘Dreamcatcher’ to pinpoint just three. On occasion the album also becomes simply more trance channelling, with cooler, more downtempo creations like ‘More’, ‘The First Year’ and ‘Moon & Back’ adding context. Of his motivations to write his first longplayer, Ben commented: “Beside You are two simple words that speak volumes. When I set out to write this, I really wanted to capture the emotions and feelings that encompass trance music to me – the warmth of that beautiful melody at the right time. Transporting us to a moment in our lives where you can remember every little detail, the feelings, location and even the sights and smells. I remember, having moved across the world from Canada to the UK, travelling on the train between Bournemouth and Manchester on my own and feeling very alone. I would listen to a certain Oceanlab song and in that moment, everything would melt away and I felt peaceful. My sincere wish is that this album can be like a light in your darkest times and a constant companion that is always beside you.”
