Happy Hour>> RDJ2 https://bit.ly/radiodj2 >> 29th January 2022, 20:00EET (19:00CET) & 31st January 2022, 09:00EET (08:00CET) & 21:00EET (20:00CET)>> the album "Shine On" by Paul Oakenfold, album released on January 21st, 2022.
Paul Oakenfold shut himself inside his house to complete work on his latest album. The dance music legend has been working on his new LP ‘Shine On’ for years but was forced to go to extreme lengths to finish up the record. Speaking of his lockdown experience, Paul tells the Daily Star‘s Wired column: “That was the moment where I went, ‘OK, I’ve got time to do this now.’ My studio is in my house – I got lost in music. “Because I put bin liners on all the windows in my house, it got a little bit weird. I never knew what time it was. I didn’t even pick the phone up. I stayed isolated. Just me and music.“So I would wake up at three in the morning and go asleep at three in the afternoon, it kind of got a little bit mad because I never left the house and it was always dark.“But I could focus and I finished my record – 17 songs – then I tore all the bin liners down and thought I was going crazy.” ‘Shine On’ is Paul’s first album since 2014’s ‘Trance Mission’ and follows a string of collaborations with artists including Luis Fonsi, Azealia Banks and Aloe Blacc.

Happy Hour> 29th & 30th January 2022 !

This weekend, 29th & 30th January 2022> Happy Hour> RDJ1> "Reactivate" by Richard Durand, album released on January 28th, 2022. A Richard Durand album is a rarer item these days and even more welcome for it. Since the heady times of his ‘Always The Sun’ debut, swiftly followed by 2012’s ‘Wide Awake’ and ‘Richard Durand Versus The World’ the following year, the Dutchman’s taken a more measured approach to the longplayer release. ‘The Air We Breathe’ in 2018 ended a six-year interlude, and it’s been a further four to where we stand today. That, specifically, is the release of Reactivate’, his consummate fifth LP, which releases Jan 28. Unlike some contemporaries, Richard’s not fundamentally re-designed his sound to mirror world events. His consensus was that - even had he wanted to, something less floor-centric simply wouldn’t have been him. While unmixed, in both approach and structure, ‘Reactivate’ is probably Richard’s most ‘music-compilation-like’ LP to date. As such, its earlier moments are largely given over to tracks with a song-based bias. Featuring the never-less-than reflective words of Christian Burns, the touching vocal refrains of his most recent single, ‘Almost Home’ opens the album. That transitions perfectly into the harmonically affecting mid-paced space of ‘It’s Not Too Late’, adding to the album’s early sense of bitter-sweetness. As with Christian, the album has presented Richard with the opportunity to re-collaborate with Christina Novelli. Emotionally, ‘My Guiding Light’ generates the uplift, while ‘Made Of Stone’ that follows it - and features singer-songwriter Sarah De Warren - adds lyrical resolve. With the inclusion of his recent debut team-up with HALIENE (on the Beatport #1 ‘Give Your Heart A Home’), ‘Reactivate’s needle begins to swing and the album increases its instrumental presence with the ethereally natured ‘Tales Of A Silhouette’.

Happy Hour>> RDJ2>> 22nd & 24th January 2022

Happy Hour>> RDJ2 https://bit.ly/radiodj2 >> 22nd January 20:00EET (19:00CET) & 24th January 09:00EET (08:00CET) & 21:00EET (20:00CET), you can listen the album "Return Of The Dragon" by Koto, album released on December 03rd, 2021. Koto - Return of the Dragon is a Koto album. That is a factual statement, yet not what it feels like.
The "main" part of the album, only eight tracks, is split evenly between Michiel van der Kuy, who had previously been handed the Koto handle starting in the 90s, and Andreas Mohr, most famously known as Cyber Space. It seems he had been given a spot on the album as a "space music guy" in true ZYX-fashion, as they had done with Koto with van der Kuy before, resulting in this Koto. Two "bonus" tracks are included in the album, one by ZYX sound engineer Vadim Kulin and one featuring a plethora of producer names, including that of Luigi "Gigi" Di Agostino.
The tracks of the "main" album seem fairly ordinary Spacesynth, with van der Kuy presenting tracks with at least more effort than many entries on his previous album, Rygar's Sonorous, which doesn't mean much. The sound varies greatly between MvdK's tracks, from his signature sound to more closely inspired by KOTO and sometimes more dancey, like Bionic Brain.
Out of his tracks, Tron is the Poster Child for the album, presenting a great blend of his own Rygar style of melodies with many elements strongly reminiscent of the Original Koto tracks by Anfrando Maiola, probably what this Koto should always have been at its most optimal.
Mohr's tracks seem to not have that level of care to them, many being particularly mid, as in offering little variation of highs and lows to the melodies. As someone not too familiar with Cyber Space, the closest comparison in Spacesynth terms might be the more middling to worse tracks on Daylight albums from the 90s, rather than any form of Koto. This is despite the fact that Mohr has been known to be good at emulating a "Laserdance" style, for which ZYX let him publish a piece under that mantle on a Spacesynth collection one year.
The bonus tracks are the most unfitting for the album, with the first, Another Way, sounding as one would expect from the names behind it: Housey, loud and high-pitched, Even though Anfrando Maiola had previously attempted to use Koto for house music, none of his tries sounded like this kind of dance, only made worse by the fact that many of the high-pitched melodic elements go off-key and cause mild discomfort to the listeners. Kulin's track on the other hand is less aggressive but equally as un-Koto, its humming, buzzing and blooping synths more appropriate for the soundtrack of a Portal game than an Italo Disco spacesynth release. One wonders what these two tracks were put on here for other than to put the tracklist into the double digits.

The album featured international hits such as ‘Hypnotized’, ‘Fireworks’, and ‘Dopamine’, leading to over 500 million streams on the album alone – yet, the initial success of Purple Disco Machine was birthed in the club world with singles such as ‘My House’, ‘Body Funk’, and ‘Dished (Male Stripper)’ among many others.Truly embedded as a pillar of the present-day disco and funk worlds, Purple Disco Machine grew up in the clubs of East Germany, where his passion for disco and house would flourish. With an ode to his roots and keeping with connection to the modern day Purple Disco Machine, the German producer presents ‘Club Exotica’, a 14 track journey of extended mixes, club dubs, and remixes featuring the highest calibre of producers from across the globe.Keeping with the mantra of Purple Disco Machine ‘Club Exotica’ provides energy, passion and a desire to keep you dancing, it’s an album dedicated to the club world and dance floors that the German producer burgeoned in and made his own.The album opens with fellow German producer Monte’s remix of ‘Can’t Get Enough (feat. Sahara Beck)’, with the Platinum award winning engineer amplifying the drums and enhancing the funk filled guitar licks of the original. Following on is the extended mix of the lively dance floor heater, ‘At The Disko’ with Lorenz Rhode, and the club dub of the immensely successful ‘Fireworks’, which expands on the funky bassline and exuberant keys.As we continue through the dancefloor dedicated tracklist we reach the extended mix of ‘Don’t Stop’ a tune that hones in on Purple Disco Machine’s more traditional club records. Looking to one of the hottest names in dance music today, John Summit injects his thumping underground dose to ‘Dopamine’, while the club dub of Tino’s melancholic collaboration with Elderbrook ‘I Remember’ once again magnifies the soaring synths and harmonic grooves. UK producer The Emperor Machine flips ‘Opposite Of Crazy’ on his head with luminescent rhythms and eccentric vocal reverbs for a futuristic production, while French artist Art Of Tones further makes ‘Club Exotica’ a global affair with a euphoric remix of ‘Loneliness’.Following on is the worldwide anthem and multi-Platinum single ‘Hypnotized’, a tune that is certified as equally adept at lighting up dancefloors with a groove-filled club mix. As the album progresses, Floorplan and The Cube Guys are looked to for remix duties of ‘Hands To The Sky’ and ‘Money Money’ respectively, and Alex Virgo emphasises the cosmic character of ‘Playbox’ simultaneously working it into a more house-centric record. As we reach the tailend of the disco-inducing LP, the club version of the title track ‘Exotica’ pays homage to the German and Italian club records that Purple Disco Machine grew up with, a high-energy heater with a lively modulated vocal. As we reach the conclusion of the club album, we are presented the smooth remix offering of ‘Wanna Feel Live A Lover’ from US producer Poolside, finishing the album with daytime disco vibes.‘Club Exotica’ is set to do exactly what Purple Disco Machine has become synonymous with throughout his career, providing disco groove to club floors across the globe. As the #2 Beatport Artist of All Time his influence on the global dance industry, producers and fans is undoubted, having remixed the likes of Dua Lipa, Mark Ronson, Foals, Calvin Harris, Fatboy Slim, Sir Elton John, Royal Blood, Lady Gaga & Ariana Grande, Duke Dumont, and Diplo & SIDEPIECE.

With a longstanding residency at Glitterbox events, and experience in bringing his disco sound to festivals such as Tomorrowland, and Defected Croatia if anyone is primed to bring an album dedicated to the dancefloor it is Purple Disco Machine.
